Stage 2 : Rebuild and completion
Whist the panels are being painted, with the addition
of the hard top, the body shell can be inspected and
on approval rebuilt.
The new wiring loom is fitted to the repainted dash
panel which is fitted to the vehicle.
Most of the suspension was replaced to original spec.
The original parts having been stripped were shot
blasted and powder coated before being reassembled
off the vehicle prior to being fitted up.
The engine is the original which we have stripped,
rebuilt - converted to unleaded and painted in
original colours.
The trim was to original styling and the seats were
reupholstered in house.
The door panels needed slight modification due to the
type of door handle.
A boot carpet set was also added.
The wheels were upgraded to chrome
With the later body shell came the larger transmission
tunnel - this then allowed us to fit a centre console
and a CD player whilst keeping the original "MG
Badged centre" in the dash.
We also fitted a CAT 2 insurance approved
immobiliser.
The LED light is neatly fitted and highly visible in the
centre console.
The customer requested the classic style boot rack
and later decided to have the boot badges fitted.
The modification list is as follows:-
Cat 2 Immobiliser
Motilita steering wheel
12 Volt accessory socket
Centre console and arm rest
CD Player
Chrome wire wheels
Chrome boot on classic boot rack
Brake servo unit
The customer has now decided to have the overdrive
gearbox unit fitted - these works will be carried out in
a few months - once he's able to part himself from the
car!
